Oyenuga Honoured as Church Leaders Gather for 11th Prophet Fakeye Memorial Lecture

Apostle Deji Oyenuga Receives Mobilization Award at 11th Fakeye Memorial Lecture
A prominent church leader, Special Apostle Deji Oyenuga, has been honoured with a Mobilization Award at the 11th Prophet Dr. Gabriel Olubunmi Fakeye Memorial Lecture held in Lagos.
The event, which drew notable dignitaries from across Christian denominations, particularly the Celestial Church of Christ worldwide, featured a series of activities commemorating the legacy of the late prophet.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the reading of the citation by Pastor Tinu Oyenuga, who delivered a moving tribute while dressed in a white robe. Her speech reflected deep admiration for the late cleric and his enduring contributions to the church.
The memorial lecture, themed “Economic Reforms in Nigeria: Implication for National Development, the Church and Its Citizens,” also included the presentation of scholarship cheques to students as part of initiatives to support education.
Among dignitaries present at the event were the Chairman/General Leader, Senior Special Apostle Pastor George Oluwadare Ogunleye, and Prof. Adetunji Ojo Ogunyemi of Obafemi Awolowo University. Others included Sunday Funsho Korode, as well as the Spiritual Father of the Day, His Eminence Elder Dr. Harold O. Demuren of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Mount Zion Worldwide.
Also in attendance was His Most Eminence Prophet Emmanuel Abiodun A. Alogbo, Baba Aladura of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church.
During the citation, Pastor Oyenuga described the late Prophet Dr. Gabriel Olubunmi Fakeye as a devoted servant of God and visionary leader who served as District Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Surulere District, for several decades.
She praised his unwavering faith and leadership, describing him as “the Joshua of our time,” whose commitment strengthened unity and growth within the church both in Nigeria and globally.
The annual memorial lecture continues to serve as a platform for reflection on national issues and the role of the church in societal development while celebrating the enduring legacy of Prophet Fakeye.
