COURT CASES, MISSING FUND,AND APOLOGY: OHANEEZE LAGOS LIST TERMS FOR PEACE DEAL

The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State Chapter, wishes to address members of the Igbo Community and the general public regarding recent developments within our organization.
We note that certain individuals, despite clear counsel from stakeholders and a duly served restraining order, proceeded with the ill-fated Calabar Hall gathering under the guise of promoting peace. The outcome of that event has unfortunately validated the concerns earlier raised by the Executives and Stakeholders.
After the gathering, numerous stakeholders who felt misled have reached out, acknowledging the necessity for proper consultation and structured engagement as prerequisites for any genuine reconciliation process.
It is evident that the now-suspended President, Chief Sunday Ossai, acted unilaterally, excluding his executives and key stakeholders from critical decisions. Such conduct represents a departure from the collective mandate entrusted to him. The Executives remain committed to upholding transparency and adherence to the organization’s bylaws.
We wish to assure Ndigbo in Lagos State that we are open to a sincere and constructive dialogue for peace. However, meaningful reconciliation must be preceded by demonstrable steps that reflect good faith and respect for due process.
As part of these preliminary measures, we call on Mr. Solomon Ogbonna to immediately embrace these three steps:-
1. Withdraw all pending court cases instituted against Ohanaeze Ndigbo. For clarity, some of these matters are scheduled to proceed at the Ikeja and Yaba Courts on Wednesday, 18th February 2026.
2. It is expected that Solomon Ogbonna should render a full account of over Fifty Million Naira (₦50,000,000) reportedly generated by his electoral committee from the 2022 elections.
3. Additionally, an apology to Ndigbo has become necessary for his refusal to vacate office upon completion of the single tenure prescribed by the Ohanaeze bye-laws, leading to the protracted crisis.
We are also aware of Solomon’s public claims regarding the disbursement of Seven Million Naira (₦7,000,000) to certain individuals in pursuit of his personal ambitions. These allegations raise serious ethical concerns and are yet to be satisfactorily cleared. It would be morally unacceptable for any reconciliation effort to emerge from the stables of the givers and receivers of the inducements and, by extension, those who misappropriated our election funds.
Ohanaeze Lagos State remains resolute in its commitment to integrity and principled leadership. We will no longer condone the fraudulent activities of jobless big men and mafians who feed fat from our election circles.
We urge members of the Igbo community to remain vigilant and not allow themselves to be exploited for positions, personal or factional interests.
We further inform the public that, following the due suspension of Chief Sunday Ossai, Chief Linus Igbudu of Enugu State now serves as the Acting President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State Chapter. He was the First Vice President of Lagos Ohanaeze, Enugu.
We call on all well-meaning Ndigbo to join us in strengthening our institution and ensuring that it remains a credible platform for representing our collective interests.
