SAHCO Hosts Ramadan Iftar Lecture in Lagos, Urges Ethical Business Practices in Aviation Industry

Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) has hosted a Ramadan Iftar dinner for members of staff and dignitaries across the aviation sector, bringing together faithful Muslims in the industry for a night of reflection, prayer, and renewed commitment to ethical conduct.
The event, held at the elegant Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja, was attended by top management of the company, aviation stakeholders, and Muslim faithful. Among those present was the Managing Director of SAHCO, Adenike Aboderin.
Delivering a keynote address, Islamic scholar Tajudeen Yusuf urged Muslims, particularly those working in the aviation industry, to embrace integrity and avoid all forms of unethical profit.
He emphasized that the holy month of Ramadan serves as a spiritual training period that encourages justice, discipline, and accountability.
“Ramadan is a school of economic justice. When a person receives in full but gives less to others, such a person will render account of their stewardship on the Day of Judgment,” he said.
Prof. Yusuf further admonished the faithful to observe the five daily prayers as prescribed in Islamic doctrine and to uphold the principles of righteousness in both personal and professional dealings.
He advised organizations to employ individuals with strong moral character, stressing that integrity should be a key consideration in recruitment.
“The company should not employ people with fraudulent character but those who obey Allah,” he said.
The cleric also reminded participants that regular recitation of the Holy Qur’an purifies the heart and strengthens spiritual consciousness.
“Human beings can become spiritually rusty, but by listening to the recitation of the Qur’an, our hearts are cleansed,” he noted.
Speaking on Taqwa,Imam Ibrahim Tirmidhee—the consciousness and fear of Allah—Imam urged Muslims to abstain not only from food and water during fasting hours but also from unethical practices.
“Profit is permissible, but without justice it becomes fraud. Fasting must produce ethical character,” he cautioned.
He further warned against deception in business, stressing that faith must guide conduct even during difficult circumstances or crisis management.
“Deception in business is fraud, and Allah detest it,” he added.
