Leadership Crisis Deepens In Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos As Stakeholder Fires Back.

The attention of stakeholders and the general public has been drawn to a series of misleading statements, staged appearances, and calculated misrepresentations emanating from deposed leadership elements and their collaborators within Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Chapter. It has therefore become imperative to place the facts on record and correct the false narratives currently in circulation.
Leadership Status: No Ambiguity, No Vacuum
For the avoidance of doubt, High Chief Sunday Ossai lacks both the constitutional authority and the moral standing to address, represent, or speak for Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Chapter in any capacity whatsoever.
Having been duly removed in accordance with the constitution and established internal procedures, any continued attempt by him to parade himself as President constitutes a direct affront to the institution and a betrayal of the collective will of its stakeholders. What is being witnessed is not confusion, but a deliberate effort to undermine institutional authority through impersonation and propaganda.
Igbo Heritage Day: Records Do Not Lie
Available and verifiable records clearly establish that High Chief Sunday Ossai:
Did not attend the Igbo Heritage Day;
Did not support the event financially, materially, or logistically;
Took no action when court processes were initiated to stop the celebration.
Yet, he now seeks to appropriate the narrative of defending Igbo heritage. Silence in the face of an attack on a flagship cultural event is not neutrality, it is complicity. This singular failure alone disqualifies him from any claim to moral or cultural leadership.
Unfulfilled Commitments and Legal Manipulation
Stakeholders should also note the role of Chief Leonard Okafor (Oba Ojoto), who publicly assured the chairman of Igbo Heritage Celebration 2025, Apostle Nwanze at a retreat of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide in Enugu of a ₦3 million contribution toward the Igbo Heritage Day 2025. That commitment was never honoured upon arrival in Lagos.
No support, financial or otherwise,was extended to the Heritage Day or to stabilizing the Lagos Chapter. Instead, attention was diverted toward the manipulation of legal processes surrounding a controversial court consent judgment, the full circumstances of which will be revealed in due course.
Clarification on Ubochi: Setting the Record Straight
Recent attempts to discredit Ubochi are dishonest, revisionist, and must be firmly rejected.
Ubochi is a long-standing and bona fide stakeholder of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Chapter whose contributions predate the present crisis. He was a core member of the original think-tank during the first dispensation of Solomon Ogbonna, alongside other committed stakeholders who mobilized ideas, resources, and goodwill to sustain the organization.
Through Ubochi’s personal intervention, Solomon Ogbonna and members of his executive were introduced to the then Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Plc, a development that directly enabled the successful funding of the first Igbo Day in 2018.
Ubochi also supported High Chief Sunday Ossai personally and materially, including chairing what remains the first and only official public Igbo Day outing of that administration. To now deny or diminish his role is not only ingratitude,it is a deliberate falsification of history.
Contradictions and Proxy Statements
These sustained attacks are calculated distractions designed to weaken those standing on the side of truth. One fundamental contradiction remains unanswered:
How does a “suspended” president retain a spokesperson?
One cannot suspend an office with one hand and legitimize it with the other. Proxy statements drafted by collaborators and merely signed do not confer authority. Time will inevitably separate legitimacy from illusion and authority from noise.
On the So-Called Reunion
The so-called “reunion” recently staged, in which High Chief Sunday Ossai was theatrically presented, was nothing more than a grand deception orchestrated by Solomon Ogbonna.
If Solomon Ogbonna seeks a third tenure, he should openly pursue yet another consent judgment,perhaps with Chief Michael Chidebelue and Leonard Okafor as signatories. This so-called “peace of the graveyard” neither resolves the crisis nor serves the interests of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Chapter.
Final Word: Let the Record Speak
The truth is clear.
History is clear.
Stakeholders are watching.
No amount of propaganda can erase documented facts. Accountability cannot be avoided.
To Solomon Ogbonna:
You misled all parties to obtain a so-called consent judgment. You concealed it, inaugurated an election committee, collected nomination fees and “consultation gifts,” supervised elections at LGA and presidential levels, and remained silent.
Barely days to inauguration, you suddenly produced the consent judgment,at a police station,after orchestrating the arrest of High Chief Sunday Ossai on allegations of contempt, claiming the presidential seat was not vacant under your own consent judgment.
You further violated that same judgment by refusing to inherit LGA Chairmen and Executives it expressly recognized, instead creating parallel structures,thereby placing yourself in contempt of your own legal instrument.
This is not politics.
This is deception.
This is fraud.
The long arm of the law does not tire. There is no limitation period on accountability.
