“There Are Many Ways to Contribute to Community Development” – SC Fatai, Customs Officer
It was a moment of recognition and pride at the 12th Annual Media Summit of TM News Publication, held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, as the organization partnered with government security agencies to honor outstanding Nigerians who have contributed immensely to the fight against insecurity and community development.
The event, themed “Securing Our Future: A Collaborative Approach to Community Safety,” brought together top government officials, security operatives, media professionals, and other stakeholders. The colorful ceremony also saw the presentation of awards to several notable Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in their various fields.
Among the honorees was Superintendent of Customs (SC) Fatai A.A., Assistant Technical Supervisor of the Tin Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service.
In his remarks, SC Fatai attributed the recognition to the visionary leadership of the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, whose guidance and support, he said, have continued to inspire officers of the Service to perform beyond expectations.
“We are working under the great shadow and support of our CGC, Adewale MFR, whose leadership spirit drives us to always give our best. Our relationship with the media is also derived from his example. This award is, therefore, a reflection of his influence and encouragement,” he said.
Expressing appreciation to the organizers, SC Fatai noted that the recognition came as a pleasant surprise.
“We appreciate TM News for discovering our efforts, even though we were only doing what we believed was right for the community. There are so many ways to contribute to community development, and this award shows that people are watching and appreciating what we do,” he added.
